Fire department volunteers are among the nation’s bravest, most loyal and self-sacrificing people. Nearly everyone is acquainted with a firefighter – either by way of being a family member or a friend; from a school trip or visit at a community center; or even just from waving as they pass by in your community.
September always brings firefighters to the front of our minds – the valiant men and women of the FDNY and surrounding departments took a terrible loss on 9-11, and the urge to honor ALL firefighters in recognition of both that day and on upcoming Fire Prevention Month is strong!
This is why Viking is proud to service so many local fire departments by providing fire department printing services — including embroidery and silk-screening for uniforms and accessories.
Embroidered department patches are durable, bright and noticeable. Viking can sew these onto a wide variety of clothing and gear, including:
- Caps or hats
- Jackets or coats
- Vest
- Bandanas
- Duffle bags, luggage or backpacks
- …and more!
There are hundreds of different options, and most station houses, units and companies all have their own specific design.
Don’t know a firefighter personally? Maybe it’s time to take a trip down to your local station house, and learn who is protecting your community. Take some cookies, and the kids, and look around. Find out a little of the history of your local station, and check out the rigs on site.
Wearing an authorized printed tee shirt, or any other sort of respectful gear can be a great way to raise awareness and funds for Fire Prevention Month (coming up soon!)
